Remembrance by Anthony Argota
I found a girl smilin' Smiling bad on me; Her lips were of centerfold Her
eyes of sanctity; And pretty nose had she.
And as she kept on smiling I couldn't hold my sight, The heart of mine, no words could tell To which I feel it might; I kissed her once, I kissed her twice, Her hands were holding tight.
Then came a time of changes I couldn't understand She uttered me unspoken words, And send them by the hand, My head were filled with what's and why's Rememb'ring things I've planned.
But this girl kept on smiling Oh! How true could this be, She never bid goodbye nor said I'll be back, wait for me; For she has found an alluring guy, And never came back she.
And all the gates of heaven, Surrounded by a fire; On part of me is bloodless wound, For goddess hears my cry, And I shall not, oh I shall not! Forget her 'till I die. |
Indian Passing by Clifford Marshal Ablaza
Time is all we must let go And all that we have known; The leaves' caress that keep us warm As they fall and touch the stones, Where the longing hours start to roam When the horizon greets the dawn Of pale blue hope that lies upon Our dream of finding home.
In discovering songs that are left un- sung That the seasons must have undone, In the quiet gush of the monsoon, We shift with the world's demands- Where we, as warriors, have been dancing on Where our gardens have been sown We will soon feel that one by one Everything we have ever planned Has come.
Time is all that we have known And all we must let go; To embrace the sadness of the sun As it sets in late afternoons, To rest our tired and trembling hands After each heavy work is done, When the coldest evenings have begun, Where the western winds have blown We must face the fire that once belonged To the years we have now outgrown, And as we feel the waning of the moon Everything we have ever known will be gone.
