UFO Club Executive Committee  Meeting Minutes

February 16, 2006 at Ross’s

 

Attendees:   Nate L.,  Brad,  Ross,  Dan,  Freddy

 

Meeting came to order at 8:45 PM.

 

Dan presented minutes from last meeting and updated roster. Roster has 31 names with 26 members current with 2006 dues.

 

Committee decided the start for Sunday Doubles will move to 2:00 PM beginning March 5, 2006. Ross will put a sign on the board. Informal bag tag round at 11 AM.

 

Brad says Wednesday Doubles with will start on April 5, 2006. Payout will be in plastic and the will be a separate ace pool. Top two places for the season get their entry paid to the Hickory Classic.

 

Dan reported delivering the Ice Bowl proceeds to the Salvation Army, $275 in cash and estimated 200 pounds of can goods. Brad will send report to Rick Rothstein at the Ice Bowl command center. Big thanks to Brent for the good job running the Ice Bowl. Congrats to Brad for the victory and the 3-peat®.

 

Thanks to Brent for fixing the tee signs for the Ice Bowl. Ross is working on a new shellacked sign system. Discussed improvements to directional signs. Nate suggested arrow system similar to Yadkinville.

 

Freddy is researching new bag tags and will report back next meeting.

 

Brad will talk to Paul about getting the correct top and/or chains for the practice basket.

 

Freddy called for a course maintenance work day for February 25, 2006. Trash in can looks OK. Sponsors need to continue emptying their assigned cans. Freddy says Gary says city will remove brush piles on #7.The following list of projects was generated. LT means long term project.

 

1.      Cut trees on holes 3 and 5, dead leaner on #6, limb above #2.

2.      Build steps on hill approaching #6 basket.

3.      Build half hexagon terrace around #5 basket or move #5 to plateau below #6 tee.

4.      Build run-up box on #13 tee. Use landscape timbers and dirt fill, concrete later.

5.      Build walls to prevent undermining on tees 15 and 18.

6.      New  alternate pin placements for 4 and 16.

7.      Remove nub rocks on 16 and 17 tees.

8.      Remove roots on long #3 hill crest.

9.      Stain trash can on #1.

10.  LT Get rid of dirt mound on #11.

11.  LT Make level walk way to #15 tee,

12.  LT Build steps from short 11 to #12 tee.
