For years, I have been fascinated with the graphic works of M. C. Escher, and his use of tessellations. Heptagons are, as far as I know, one of the few shapes he did not explore. As seen here, they can be tessellated when combined with another shape which I call a spacer. In this picture, all the spacers are aligned in the same direction. |
