An Ode To Orange

There is no word that rhymes with orange: it is a word unique.
You'll find no word that rhymes with it, no matter where you seek.
There is no word that rhymes with orange, none that you'll ever hear,
For porridge doesn't sound quite right, at least not to my ear.
And range, revenge, and laryngitis do not fill the bill;
I've found no word that rhymes with orange, and don't think that I will.
There is no word that rhymes with orange, in English anyway;
In French or Spanish, I don't know, in Dutch, I couldn't say.
Of these and other languages I hardly speak a word:
Have they a word that rhymes with orange? If so, I haven't heard.
There is no word that rhymes with orange that is in use today.
Perhaps some future dictionary will have more to say.
It might list starnge, or varnge, or thorange, something like that, I'll bet.
Don't ask me what these strange words mean - they're not invented yet!
There is no word that rhymes with orange; it really does not lend
Itself for use in poetry, where lines rhyme at the end.
To use it twice just for the rhyme is cheating, in my book.
Is there a word that rhymes with orange? I'll take another look.
