I am preparing for the trip. Shopping for clothes and toiletries. Make sure to bring compatible luxuries for the trip like power adapter, clothes that fit in the tropical weather. Security and comfort are number one...secret wallet, lock, luggage straps...something like that. I bring with me all kind of medicines and even bug spray. But I used to live there and I know how to deal with any thing there. People there are not that harmful.

My trip will begin at the beginning of April 2003, late Spring. I plan to stay there for one month. I am going with some of  cousins. A ticket costs about $1,200 for round trip. There are several Airlines that fly to Vietnam for example China Airline, Singapore Airline, Korean Airline and some American Airlines.

When arriving Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh city my friends will pick me up and I will stay in their home for a couple days. During these days they will take me to visit around the city. Then I will fly to Danang city where my hometown located. I will spend most of my time in Danang. If I get bored I may fly back to Saigon and stay there for a few days.

My purpose to go there is to revisit my native homeland. I want to see how it has changed. I want to see my family's members and some people I know like my friends from schools. My first sight is to see the heart of Saigon in a busy day and cool and quiet nights. I like the look of peaceful green farms with water buffalos. I  like the foods and Vietnamese cafe. It's good. Western from French and Eastern look and taste are so unique.
