Ten Things I've Learned Since Graduating from HHS
                                   Jeannie Simmons Price

1. Working for the telephone company will make you a "ding-a-ling."
2. Having your first child while yur husband is fighting a war in Korea  makes other people really interested in Math.
3. Having a second child nine months and 15 minutes after your husband returns from Korea (making your babies 13 months apart)
makes you wish they had invented the pill earlier.
4. Delivering your third daughter in Germany was the best souvenier anyone could bring home from Europe.
5. Moving 10 times in your first 15 years of a military marriage makes you appreciate finally owning a home where you can see three daughters graduate from your own high school.
6. Working in a hardware store can give you the "tools" you need to "nail down" a living while raising three girls as a single mom.
7. Your never too old to learn something new-like how to use e-mail. Thanks to computers, I was able to turn my favorite pen pal into a new romance. You've heard of mail order brides? I got  myself an internet-ordered hubby!
8. Getting remarried in your 6th decade and moving away from your hometown after 30 years of living single can be a true adventure.
Hey, I might be over the hill, but I'm picking up speed that way!
9. Walking slower helps me really enjoy the beauty around me. I'm living in my own "Sourthern Plantation" in Baton Rouge, LA, but have filled six years of marriage to my dear husband, David Price (HHS Class of 48)  with many wonderful travels. Some of my favorite trips have been our Alaskan Cruise, Train Trip  across Canada, Tour of our National Parks out West, and our honeymoon trip to New York City.
I'm also excited about our upcoming European Cruise on the Rhine river this Fall. ( Can you join us?)
10. The great thing about getting Older is that you haven't lost any of the ages you've already been! Climbing that mountain of life may have me a bit tired, worn, and breathless, but the view back has been a great one. I still everything I had 50 years ago...it's just sitting lower!
