Still married to same person even though he only needs to throw white stones at my feet to divorce me. He wouldn't dare. No children. Moved to Florida in l977, sold real estate, became a crafter (much more profitable money wise than teaching) and the parental caregiver for 17 years. To keep busy and mind active, now do flea markets and antiques and collectibles shows, two really diverse markets and research venues. Lots of fun and friendly people with the benefit of finding a" Rembrandt" once in a while.

MESSAGE TO CLASSMATES: Hempstead High School was phenomenal..it provided us with a wide eclectic background to be enjoyed and provide opportunities we never dreamt about. Looking forward to remeeting in September

HIGHLIGHTS OF LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL:

After graduation I went to work for Grumman Aircraft as a secretary.

In June of 1958 I married Joe Sanchez (class of 1956). We lived in Virginia for two years while he was in the Navy. We then came back to Long Island where I was a stay at home cookie-baking Mom.

After Joe retired from the Police Department we moved to Pennsylvania and have lived here for the last twenty years. I have been working as a Guest Service Person at Hershey’s Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania for ten years and really enjoy it.

We have done a lot of traveling around the United States (including Hawaii), we’ve also traveled abroad visiting Italy twice, Ireland and the Caribbean Islands.

Next June Joe and I will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary – WOW! And they said it wouldn’t last because we were too young.

We have three terrific children and in-law children plus three wonderful grandchildren. Two of my grandsons graduated high school this year. Exactly 50 years after me! At both graduations the class of 1957 was honored, which brought back many fond memories of my days at H.H.S.

MESSAGES TO CLASSMATES:

I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone again and playing catch up. It will be interesting to see what everyone has done with their lives since our GOOD OLD DAYS at H.H.S. As we say in Hershey – HAVE A SWEET DAY!

HIGHLIGHTS OF LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL: Married classmate Carol Nissman (whose parents had the audacity to move to New Rochelle for Carol's senior year. I've attached photos and a write-up about Carol, since she is an official classmate of ours). We have been married 46 years, have two childen, and one grandchild. Received my BS in Geology from Rensselaer and put it to practice in the Gulf Coast doing seismograph exploration for oil and gas. After 5 years, I decided that seismographing really wasn't my cup of tea, and went to Colorado School of Mines and got a Masters in Geological Engineering. Went into mineral exploration for uranium, gold, silver, rare earths and industrial materials. This phase of my career was spent mostly in the western US with projects in Africa, South America, and Canada as well as a wonderful three and a half years in Australia. During the Australia phase, I also got to work in New Zealand and New Guinea. In the mid-1980's the mineral Industry in the United States went in the toilet, and I struggled from 1984 to 1987 trying to make a living in the Denver area. In 1987, I left for California and found a job in the environmental clean-up industry where I had ample opportunity to put my Geological Engineering training to work especially on groundwater issues. Carol joined me in California in 1988 after our son left for Kings Point and our daughter's wedding. I retired in 2003, and followed Carol to Las Vegas where she accepted a good job from one of her former bosses.

MESSAGES TO CLASSMATES: It's fun to reflect on the past and compare it to the current time, In high school we were invincible, and the world was our oyster; now we realize that we weren't invincible and we've eaten the oyster. I look forward to the reunion to renew old friendships - because of our moving around the country and world, we just about lost all contact with our classmates. Please feel free to contact us.

HIGHLIGHTS OF LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from New Rochelle High School and, despite being awarded several scholarships, could not afford college right away. Went to work to earn money for college, and attended Columbia at night. Refused an opportunity at IBM to learn programming (talk about hindsight!) so I could continue on my quest for a medical career....but...Lou and I got married and I wound up following him around the country and world; we moved 18 times! We had two kids, a girl and a boy. My business career was varied. During our early years of marriage, I worked in advertising ; was a legal secretary; executive assistant to Jack Valenti in Houston prior to his LBJ White House and Motion Picture Producers Association days; then an executive assistant to the Chief Economist for Humble Oil and Refining (now Exxon); worked for a minerals exploration company in Denver while Lou was getting his Master's. In Australia I got involved in the Amateur Musical Comedy Society (no, I didn't sing!), managed their theater and acted in a couple of plays (non-speaking parts for this Yank accent, though). After Australia, I became serious about climbing the corporate ladder; went to work for a large electrical contractor in Denver and then transferred with them to California. Changed jobs in California to a different contractor and worked my way up to manage their Southern California electrical power construction group. Then instead of retiring when I planned to, I followed a former boss here to Vegas to help build his bidding/estimating group and became a construction project manager/estimator for fiber optic installations. Now, after 32 years in electrical construction, I AM FINALLY RETIRED!!

MESSAGES TO CLASSMATES: Take time to stop and smell the roses and watch pretty sunsets. Always have a positive attitude...and smile! I am jazzed about seeing everyone and reminiscing about old times.
