MAKE YOUR OWN FURNITURE POLISH

This is a gentle polish, excellent for antique furniture and wood floors. It
does contain turpentine which is highly flammable and I suggest making it
outside if you have a hot plate or something to supply a controllable heat
source.

 pt. Water
Handful of lavender flowers

Bring to a boil, remove from heat and let it infuse for an hour.  Strain.

Reheat the above mix, ad 2 oz (about 1/3 cup) shredded pure soap.  Stir
until soap is melted.  Remove from heat and let it sit until it is lukewarm.

Melt 4 oz (1/2 C.) beeswax in 1 pint of turpentine in a double boiler.  NOT
over direct heat.  Be VERY careful this is highly flammable.

Add soap mixture to the beeswax/turpentine.  Beat until creamy and add a few
drops of lavender oil before pouring into small jars or pots.

Instead of lavender you can substitute rosemary or dried citrus peel for
scent.
