| Here's how to make your very own bed canopy! Take a wooden shelf, then staple material of your choice onto the back draping down 120cm, which will sit flush with the wall. Gather and staple material 45cm long by however wide you need to gather around the front of your shelf, forming a frill or skirt. Cover the staples by hot-gluing with a pretty braid. Then put it on the wall over your bed. If you want drapey sides you can put longer panels on the sides of the shelf. The shelf can be used to sit old pictures or other collection items on. Another alternative for a half-canopy is to use some plaster molding on the ceiling as a frame, stapling material onto it. This isnt exactly a canopy, but drapey sides can be created, hanging the material at either side of the bed. This isnt intended to go over the full bed area, just at the head of the bed ~ where the pillows are. |
