Gear up for the Habitat 500!!!
Habitat 500 is a pledged 500-mile bicycle ride
benefiting Habitat for Humanity.  This year's route will be held July
13th - 19th.  As a part of James' training for the 500 mile trek, he'll be
pulling a trailor with a billboard displaying all of the businesses that are sponsoring him.  His
goal is to raise $2,500 for HFHSWND!
"I first rode in the Habitat 500 the summer of 2001. This is the second time I will be
participating in the ride.  We ride 500 plus miles in 6 days. This year we start at Duluth, Minnesota
and ride a 500 mile loop through northeast Minnesota.  The weather will likely be hot and humid.
Last time around I thought I was going to die the first day of the ride.   90 plus miles and 90
plus heat with high humidity.  My legs were cramping and it didn't look like there would ever be an
end to that day.  By the end of the ride, riding was easy and I wasn't looking forward to the event to
end. I made a lot of friends on the ride.  It was amazing how 127 riders as well as the volunteers all
became one huge family.  The Habitat 500 has made a lasting impression on my heart and soul.
I can't wait to start the process all over again."
