| Theme Analysis There are many different themes in the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. One of the themes in Huck Finn is racism. Since the setting of Huck Finn is in the south (Missouri) it is more likely for the people to be racist. Not that all people from the south are racist, but we are stereotyping some of the people who live there. The book is set in the 1800s the people are most likely racist since the time period suggests that it is the time when racism is a very big thing going on in everybodys every day life. There are slaves and one of the characters in the book are racist (Jim) there are probably going to be some racism in the book. Most people in Huck Finn dont like Jim, because he is a black boy and he is also a slave. There are some people who like him, like the main character Huck Finn. Obviously Huck likes Jim or he would not be so nice to him. When Huck runs away, everybody thinks that his dad killed him, but since Jim ran away the thought that Jim had killed Huck, because the period relates to everybody being racist. |
