Children In Gangs

In The story The Adventures of Huck Finn Tom and his friends started a gang to keep each other close through brotherhood. Even though this a fictional story children in gangs is a shocking reality that cannot be avoided.
Children are often pressured into gangs because of many reasons. Temptation is a big lure to gangs. Gang members try to tell them when they are in a gang they will be able to get whatever they want. Things like jewelry, weapons, and drugs are some of the things they use to tempt the youth. Often children are tricked into gangs. They know that the word gang isnt too glamorous to most people so they say they are a club or group.
Most of the kids they trick are known to have lack of parenting and live in a bad neighborhood. However, most of the time people join gangs for a sense of family. Most people in gangs dont have a strong sense of family at home. They also think that joining a gang is a good way to make money so they join out of desperation. There a many reasons why children join gangs but once theyre in, theyre in for good.
Initiation is different in all gangs but it usually has to do with breaking the law, or a beating of a lifetime. Many gangs one gets jumped in. Being jumped in is when the gang beats up the new member for sometimes as long as 10 minutes. To get accepted the new member has to be standing at the end of the beating.
Gang involvement is a lifestyle in which many people live. Members participate in such criminal acts as vandalism all the way up to murder. Most gang members would die for their gang and many of them do. Children in gangs, however, interesting it is in a fictional story is a freighting reality to many.
