Mark Twain
Samuel Longhorn Clemens was born in 1835 when Hailey�s comet was in orbit. Complete sys that twain was born in Florida, Missouri then moved to Hannibal, Missouri. The Clemens family consisted of two brothers, a sister, and the family-owned slave, jenny, whose vivid story telling was a formative influence on the young Sam (Lewis). He was an author back in the 1860�s. He is better known as Mark Twain.. Twain got his name because he worked on a steamboat measuring the depth of the water, and how far from the shore the boat was. When his father died he dropped out of school and started to work. (Complete). Throughout his life he had many careers that included writer, apprentice, and working on a steamboat. He got married to Olivia Langdon and had three daughters by the names of Suzy, Jean and Clara (Waisman) \. He published many books in his career as an author, including The Adventure of Tom Sawyer, The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn, and Prince and The Pauper. Twain died when Hailey�s comet was back in orbit in the year 1910.
