Twas You

Twas you who stromed the castle gates
And stole my heart from dragon's claws
You carried me through without a scratch
As my bruises continually grew

I cried and whined; for the pain was great
It wasn't supposed to be like this
The wounds were not to grow
Yet as you stormed the castle gates
It was me who took the fall

My gallant knight
Now here you stand, much stronger than before,
With your newly crippled damsel
Still clinging at your arms

"So what to do?" you ask yourself
this fallen angel hears
You want to stay, but I cannot
So I run farther away

Your gentle kindess scared me
For I was no longer me
The bruises covered my body
So everyone could see
But still my knight, Please don't forget

You saved me from myself
