BIOLOGICAL WARFARE
Current Situation
The current status of biologocal warfare is a stressful one.  There is general agreement among many countries that biological warfare is inhumane and that it should not be used for first strike, retaliation in kind, or defensive purposes.  However, this thought is not universally shared.  Many less developed countries see biologics as an easy and less expensive way to possess mass destruction weapons.  Determining which countries have biological warfare programs is not an easy task.  The data of this subject is vague due to it's very nature.  No government is going to outright say "we have a biological warfare program."  Countries suspected of having programs include:

     - China                    - Iraq                    - Iran                    - USA
     - former USSR         -Taiwan                - Syria                   - Cuba
     - Israel                    - Egypt                  - North Korea        - Japan

The largest stockpiles are believed to be held by Iran, the US, and the former USSR.  Once again, the data on this is very sketchy because of most governments unwillingness to supply this kind of information and also because these stockpiles are much easier to hide than conventional weapons or even chemical weapons.
