Diary of a Redhead Gone Mad
by Melody Bowen
Yep, that's me.
About RedheadGoneMad.com's Author: Melody Bowen
Melody penned her first journal entries in her "Hello Kitty" journal in third grade, when she wrote about her love for her favorite pets, her best friends, and a few boys (including her "would-be boyfriend" Blakeney Cain).  Clearly, not much has changed, as she still writes about... well, her favorite pets, her best friends & a few boys.

Melody studied communications, journalism and political science at the University of Arkansas and University of Maryland College Park, then completed postgraduate courses in communication as a visiting scholar in the UK at St Edmunds Hall, Oxford University, and Emmanuel College, Cambridge University.  She is a former News Editor for eMediaMillWorks (an Associated Press partner), where she worked with clients such as the Congressional Record, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and National Public Radio. In 2002, she switched "pens" and accepted a position as a Technical Writer (and later, Database Administrator, despite having absolutely no clue what she was doing) for one of the largest architecture and engineering firms in her state.  In 2004, she began serving as Secretary for the North American branch of a support group for women with a rare genetic disorder.

Melody was born in Arkansas, and has also lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Monterey, California; and the Washington, DC area.  She currently resides in Rogers, Arkansas, only a few miles from her birthplace.  Having outlived two husbands (okay, okay... two
marriages), she is happily "re-singlified" and the single parent of three girls (her pugs) -- Banjo, Mandolin & Jewel.  For fun, she enjoys reading, writing, playing the banjo, looking for the kind of adventures that make her stomach flip (roller coasters, paragliding, finding the perfect shade of lipstick...?), and building what she considers to be the definitive collection of "chick flicks" on DVD.  She is currently writing her first novel about -- what else? -- favorite pets, best friends & a few boys.
