Well Guys and Girls. ITs time for a new update on the old pageroo. There has been soooooooooooooooooooo much happening in the last few months and you are gonna hear all about it all now. Since arriving in Vancouver I stayed there for a little while and checked out a few of the sites in town like the beaches (not anything like Aussie beaches let me tell you) and the world famous Stanley Park next to the city centre. That has got to be the best damn park in the world!!!! It is huge and there is so many wild animals running around all over the place. Then I went over to Vancouver Island for a week and a half to visit a few friends who I met in Australia in Cairns. I stayed with a girl called Erin who I met in Inn The City backpackers in Cairns a few years ago. She let me stay on the couch for 5 days and took me around to see some of the sites around Victoria. We had a great time floating down the river in inner tubes and going to some of the local beaches and parties. Then it was time to move up the island to see another friend called Ryan who I worked with on the Kangaroo Explorer in Cairns. I stayed for almost a week with Ryan and he took me out a few times on a friends boat to get crabs which were delicious freshly cooked. He also took me up the island a bit further and went out on his parents boat to stay in the bay at Hornby Island for 3 or 4 days with his 2 sisters. We went for a dive and to tell you the truth it was bloody cold compared to diving in Cairns but well worth it. Saw a few really cool things down there and got a few photos. Unfortunately we didnt see any 6 gill sharks which is what we were looking for. Doesnt matter though coz we had a great time on the boat. After that it was back to Vancouver for another week to sort out my plans for the rest of the trip. I stayed in the same backpackers as the first time and needless to say not much progress happened in the first few days but an overnight trip to Whistler changed that. In just a few hours I had a place to live and was offered 3 jobs. Just one will do though. We all know how much I love working. So I figured now was as good a time as any to move up the mountain and sort myself out for the winter. I moved into a chalet with all these Aussies who are doing the same thing. Its funny up here. There are more Aussies than any other nationality, almost including canadians. We all lived there for about a month while working and doing some mountain biking which is unreal fun. I seriously suggest you give it a try. Had to move out of there though and found another place just across the road from the main village which is very handy. Then the snow started coming down and its been pretty steady since then and we have a lot of snow all around the village and loads up the mountain. I gave skiing a go and twisted my knee so had to snowboard instead for the next couple of weeks to build up the muscle in the knee again. Pretty much all good now though. Will get back on the skiis soon but in the meantime am doing pretty good on the board. Hitting some little jumps and trying to do a few tricks. Not too bad for a beginner. Apart from that just all the usual backpacker bullshit like not earning much money, drinking too much and having a good time. I will put up some new photos soon and update the text to tell you about some of the parties and other stuff. Keep tuned for more from Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
