Subject: "The Disabled Placard Saga" ....or "Why I'm Divorced" Date: 11/24/2000 1:03:47 PM Pacific Standard Time From: HeyJude6 To: Dianne G'morning, Dianne! OK, we got careless in Santa Cruz and got your Disabled placard stolen outta my vehicle, but we turned in the loss report and got you a new one from the DMV in Santa Cruz. OK... problem was solved. Well, you won't believe where all your new Disabled placard has been this past week!!! Arrrrghhh!!!!! OK, you left it in the back seat of my vehicle on the floor. I had to go to work the next day, so I had left it on the mail slot in the garage and I thought I told the kids about it in case you came by to get it. But they don't recall, so maybe I didn't. Anyways, Chris saw it and thought it came in the mail. He didn't know whose it was, so he gave it to Mickey. Why, I don't know!! I guess he figured there are more disabled people in his household than here. Anyways, Mick's had it all this time! I was upset. Chris called him and told him to bring it back. When Mick came in this morning, I said, "Mick, did you bring Dianne's disabled placard back?" He said, "Yea." I said, "Don't take my stuff without asking." He said, "I didn't take it, you gave it to me." I said (well, I yelled actually), "WHY WOULD I GIVE IT TO YOU???? I DIDN'T GIVE IT TO YOU!!!" He said, "Well, Chris found it in the street and gave it to me." I said, "Chris didn't find it in the street! It was in the mail slot so Dianne could come pick it up! And what were you going to do with someone else's disabled placard??? Did you use it?" Don't croak, Dianne.... He said, "Yes, I used it. These are hard to come by." "Mick, you are such a dishonest person! Do you know what the fine is for using someone else's disabled placard?" "Yea, it's high. But Dianne can get in trouble for letting someone else use her placard." "Mick, you would be the one in trouble for stealing someone's placard!" Can you believe this conversation, Dianne? Oh, I am sooooo happy I am divorced! Arrrrggghhhh!!!!! Anyways, I now am in possession of your Disabled placard. Like I told you on the day you left it in my car, you gotta choose one specific place to keep this card and put it back in its place after every use. There are criminals out there, you know.
