I am researching my ancestors that include the following surnames, Allen, Bates, Christmas, Courtney, Dixon, Kelley or Kelly, Reams or Rheams, Rounsavill or Rounsavall, Taite or Tate, and Watts. Secondary surnames are Barnett, Callender, Cockerham, Davison, Myers, Selman, Sullivan, Osgood, Pearce, Sibley, and Tycer, among others.
Researchers helping me are my cousins, Huland D. Miley and Ann L. Myers, of Denham Springs,La.; Margie Kelley of Baton Rouge, La. and a very good friend and fellow genealogist, Randy Hull of Walker, La. Thanks to all my email genealogy family and friends, who have helped me so much. A Special THANKS to Herbert Turner of North Carolina, who helped me with the Christmas Family.
I am a direct descendant of Herod Allen, paternally and his sister, Rhoda Jane Allen, maternally, children of Matthew and Elizabeth Moody Booth Allen of South Carolina.. We have four (4) unknowns in our research, my paternal great grandfather, James W. Kelly,(abt 1818-1869) husband of Mary Caroline Christmas. Then, my maternal great-great grandfather, Ripley Rheams, (about 1824- July, 1850), husband of Rhoda Jane Allen. Our third unknown is who was Thomas Christmas, who died in St. Helena Parish in early 1800's and was the grandfather of Mary Caroline Christmas. And fourth is the mystery of the connection between Alsolem Dixon and Samual Shadrack Dixon. If you can help with any information on and of these unknowns, please email me at [email protected] ; [email protected] or [email protected]
