| I feel his misery I sense his sorrow I know his pain For it is I who caused it Each time he sees me His heart shatters again His entire body shakes With his sobs for the love he has lost Perhaps I truly did love him once But he could not resist the temptations of this world He knew when he did it He had lost me But then it was too late He begged, he pleaded, he promised He swore he would change But the deed was done And now I can look into those eyes Those deep, dark eyes The same eyes I used to love That are haunted now He is haunted by me, my love, His love for me One glance in those eyes Shows me the agony he bears The pain because he knows I care His soul is in torment And I know why And I am sorry And I would try to help But it would only hurt her Because he would always love me more And I hate to cause so much pain and suffering But I have seen it all I have known the pain of others And I never want to feel the pain Of my own So I continue to break hearts And I continue to shudder When I look into their eyes And realize that I am the cause of so much pain But I would rather cause it Than have it Wouldn't you?
