| BACK | Its four oclock. By the time we get out of here and back to his hotel itll be at least four thirty. Wonder if Ill see the other guys Who cares? I just want Nick. And not while Im a complete emotional wreck either. Pulling my shirt over my head, I carefully folded up the clothes and carried them out to my jacket with my shoes in the other hand. These shoes are evil. They look really good but pure evil. Sorta like Nick. Speaking of, as I pulled my shoes back on slowly, my feet screaming at me in protest, Nick walked out, hangers hanging from one hand. You getting all of that? Yeah should make Kev happy. It appears that Ive at least attempted to buy myself a slightly more diverse wardrobe. Plus, if he doesnt like anything, Ill blame it on you. Cheesy grin directed my way. Fair enough. Standing up, I picked up my jacket only to have it pulled out of my hands by the most gentlemanly pop star that probably exists in this world. Once on, he kept his hands on my shoulders, whispering in my ear before kissing my cheek. Youre evil, you know that? Yes, actually I do. But I thought you said I was stubborn. Youre that too. Picking his clothes back up, he winked at me before allowing me enough time to sling my bag over my head and pick up the clothes Id tried on before grabbing my hand and leading me downstairs. As we walked towards the checkout counter, he stopped abruptly, causing me to run into him. You have to get this. Im buying you this. Huh? Peeking my head around his shoulder, I noticed him looking at a little blue silk sundress, tiny little flower buds printed all over it. It was actually very pretty. Maybe he just doesnt have very good guy fashion sense. Nick, its January. Theres no reason for me to get that dress. Do you like it? Well, yeah, its pretty, but He searched through the racks, checking the tag on each one. Youre like a super tiny, right? What? I started laughing, trying to pull him away from the rack. Nick, I dont need another dress. We came in here to get you something to wear, not me. You are not buying that dress for me. Yes I am. He pulled one out, holding it up to me to figure out if itd be the right size or not. It says small thats what you wear, right? Nick I dont want you buying me stuff. Then Im just like every other girl whos used you for money. Well, yeah, but Nick, I dont want you to waste your money on me. Continuing our path to the cash register, now with a light blue sundress in tow, he shook his head adamantly. Nope, its on you, therefore its not wasting my money. Plus, you already bought me lunch today. Sighing, I gave in, letting him buy me this dress that Id probably never wear because itd remind me of him too much. Did you find everything you were looking for Nick? * Yeah, I just dont think Ill be able to take with me everything I found. I cut a glance at Kara who was leaning over the counter to put the camo fatigues back on the shelf behind the register. Morgan nodded and gave me a sad smile. Finally a friend who understands without giving me death threats. I think this is my favorite Kara friend so far. Well, sometimes it takes a little bit more than money to get everything you need. I looked over my shoulder, seeing Kara had wandered off to look through some resale racks, and leaned towards Morgan. You did get that I was buying those pants, didnt you? He grinned and nodded. If you werent, I was. Shes been looking for some camo pants for a while now. I had the boss order em special for her. She cant stand the girl ones we carry because she claims theyre too tight. Picking up the dress, he considered it as he rung it up. Thisll be good on her too. Ive yet to find anything that hasnt looked absolutely fantastic on her but shed wear this. Simple yet still sorta girly. Taking it from the hanger and folding it up carefully, he came back to me. Please dont hurt her. Kara is like my little sister, and I really dont want to see her hurt. You you have a lot of power, being famous and all dont manipulate her with that. Wait a second. Being famous? You know who I am. Blinking a few times, he looked at me like I was nuts, then glanced over to Kara and back at me. He just realized I hadnt told her yet. Yeah my sister is a huge fan Morgan, I wouldnt dream of hurting Kara. She means way too much to me. I appreciate you not threatening me with death though. Just believe me when I say I wouldnt dare ever do anything that might mean Id have to let go of her again. Morgan nodded. Good. Handing me my bags and my credit card back, he shook my hand. I put the two things for her in one bag and your stuff in the other. It was nice meeting you Nick. Good luck. Nice meeting you too. Thanks for the help. Good luck? Kara met me at the door, and pulling my hat low over my eyes again after seeing the crowd that filled the downtown streets, I pushed open the door for her to exit first. As I followed, I glanced at my watch. Shit. 4:20 p.m. Okay Carter, its about time you face the music - now Im making puns in my head - and decide whether you confess and keep her around for a couple of hours or let her go and hope she falls back into your lap again. |
