Shes blushing because of something.  I wanna know!

I even whine in my own head

So who won?

What?

Won?

Rearranging her legs under her, she nodded up at me.

Yeah, your argument with Marcus.  Did you win?

Depends on how you look at it.

What the hell am I talking about?  Im sitting in a restaurant with Kara, not trying on clothes.  I sooo won.

You could say that.

Ask what we were arguing about.  Ask what we were arguing about.

She nodded.  Ah!  Ask what we were arguing about!

Now what?

Grrr

What do you mean?

She looked around the table.

Food is gone.  Its

A quick glance at her watch.

almost three.

WHAT?!

Panicking, I stared at my watch begging to hands to start spinning backwards.  No no no!

You okay?
*
He looked up, eyes wide in panic.  Oh no he has to leave.

Um nothing.  I just didnt realize it was that late already.

Alright here it comes.

Are you supposed to be somewhere?

Say no, please say no.

He sighed.

Not yet.  Im supposed to be somewhere at five.  I think.  For business.

Business sound check.

Oh, then we still have a few hours to kill

He stared into space for a few moments.

I need clothes.

Huh?

Um alright.  I think we could find you some of those.  Just no rich prep clothes, please.

His attention returned to the room, smiling slightly towards me.

No way.  Marcus was trying to get me into some of that earlier.  Then I dragged him away to find you.

I felt giddiness flowing through my veins, threatening to turn me into a giggling teenybopper again.

Is that what you were arguing about?

*
Yes!  She asked.

Actually

Slipping out of the booth, I placed myself on her side and held my hands out to help her up.  Looking down at her, I noticed a little too much of her thigh was showing for my own good.  Immediately I felt my pants becoming a little more confining than when we had the table to protect her from me.

I want her.

Right now.

Stretching her legs out from under her, her skirt creped up a fraction of an inch more.

Carter, pull your eyes away from the girls legs before you climb on top of her and do things that arent legal in public.

Placing her hands in mine, I gently pulled her to her feet, our bodies ending up closer than Id originally gauged.

What were you saying?

Huh?  Saying?

Still not moving, curiosity filled her eyes.

God, I can feel heat radiating off her.  Oh jeez, Im driving myself nuts.

About your argument with Marcus?

Argument oh yeah!
*
Blonde moment?

Oh yeah, that!

I laughed at him.  Yes, that.

We were arguing about you.

WHAT?!  About me?

*
Shes looking at me like I grew a second head (AN: was about to make a really dirty joke there).  Laughing in my mind, I dropped her hands and slipped my arm around her waist, pulling her towards the door.

You cant just say that and not explain yourself.  What about me were you arguing about?!

Exiting the building, we stopped on the sidewalk.

Where are we going?

Youre avoiding my question.

The smirk on my face looked like it was driving Kara crazy.

Where are we going?

Dejected, she pouted up at me.

Ah, baby.  Dont do that.  Im gonna give in way before I want to.  This little game is fun.

Pulling away from my arm, she looked up and down the slightly busy street.

You like vintage?

What?

Vintage.  Clothes.  You said you needed clothes.  Theres a really good vintage clothing store about two blocks over.

Cool.  Lead the way, beautiful.

It just slipped out of my mouth.  Just because Id been calling her that in my head since the moment I met her doesnt mean thats what I should be calling her in real life.

Eyes narrowed, she studied me.

What did you just call me?

She gets mad over the weirdest things.  Compliments.  Offers of money

She is so not a normal girl.

I love her.

I called you beautiful.
