Tuesday - January 16, 2003 (5:27pm) - Vaughn Center Commons Room

Skyes head snapped up the moment the lights turned on, and she turned to look over the back of her chair only to find that no one was there.  Hearing nothing moving around in the general vicinity, she turned back around in confusion, wondering what had just happened only to push it out of her head and going back to her book.
A few minutes of continued silence fell around her as she started picking up clues to help her remember the list of basic ethic rules before the pounding of multiple sets of feet came up the stairs towards her.  Once they reached the fourth floor, the voices that went with the feet began floating towards her, growing louder the closer they came.
Before they had a chance to go too far past her, Skye called out, Hey guys?
The movement stopped for a second before starting to come towards her again, accompanied by a unanimous call of Yes Miss Skye?
Shed never out run the nickname theyd been calling her since her freshman year after Rob and Shane visited her at the child care center shed been working at part time and heard all the kids calling her Miss Skye.  It seemed to ingrain itself into their heads to the point that theyd gotten the entire baseball team to refer to her as such.
Did one of you guys walk by here about five minutes ago and flip on the lights? she asked nonchalantly without bothering to look at them.
The three boys shared glances with each other before turning back to the chair Skye was lounging in.  We just got inside about thirty seconds ago, Shane replied.  Why?  Did the lights just magically come on?
Yes, she replied curtly, more confused than before.
Maybe we have a ghost, Robert suggested.  Does that scare you?  A ghost in Vaughn Center?  I bet Nick would protect you if you got scared.
She rolled her eyes and just shook her head, knowing they could see the movement.  Never mind guys. I have to finish
studying.
Shrugging, the three boys went on their way, leaving her to study while they headed towards their respective rooms.  Robert waved towards Shane and Pete as they continued to the far end of the hall before opening his own door only to meet Nicks eyes the moment he walked in.
Robert froze and looked at him funny for a minute before continuing into the room.  Making his way through the boxes and clothes that littered their floor, he flopped down on his bed and grabbed the remote to the stereo before a thought came to him as Nick began typing again.
Hey Nick, did you walk by the commons room about five minutes ago and turn on the lights? he asked casually.
Stopping his work, Nick scratched his head and avoided his roommates eyes.  Yeah, he replied.
Laughing, Robert flipped on the stereo to his All-American Rejects cd before lying on his back and tossing a foam ball up and down.  And you didnt say anything?  Tell her hi or something?
Nick shook his head before going back to his work.  No, she was busy.  It was getting dark in there, so I figured itd help.
So youre the ghost he trailed off.
Huh? Nick asked, confused.
Never mind.  Toss me my psych book.  I should probably study some too, he replied.

January 16, 2003 (20:12est) - Stories and cigarettes ruin lives of lesser girls its a strange condition

So another day at school.  Another day of classes.  Another day of studying.  Did anything worth mentioning even happen to me today?

I had my poetry analysis class this morning.  Going over some Hughes poems that I worked with for my senior term paper in high school, so its semi-boring - at least more boring than usual.  Mrs. Olivarez isnt the type of woman you argue with in a class either, so Im keeping my mouth shut even when I think her predictions to what his metaphors mean are absolutely impossible.  To understand Ted Hughes, you have to understand Sylvia Plath.  Its the only way.

Obviously shes never read any Sylvia Plath.  Its about the rise of technology and the decline of nature, my ass. -is bitter-

I grabbed something for lunch and went up to the AD building to do inventory of the baseball equipment.  Tryouts start tomorrow afternoon.  Im going to have to stop by and see if Coach is running their asses off like he said he was going to do.

I was there for a few hours before I realized I was late for my meeting with the Minaret staff, which is probably not a good thing considering Im the editor now.  The Brat isnt here this semester (or at least shes not working on the paper anymore) so things should go smoother this semester than last.  -snaps fingers-  Damn.  No more long rants about how ridiculously stupid that girl is.

We did have a few newbies, so even after the meeting was over and assignments were given out/ideas taken in, I stuck around and chatted with the young ones for another hour or so before coming back to the dorm and studying for the ethics quiz/test/thing Im supposed to have tomorrow afternoon.  Everything was okay until I looked out the window to see PJ, RH, SM, and the new guy (NC, I believe - one day I *will* remember.  Promise Rob.) messing around and playing imaginary baseball.  Well, the new guy wasnt.  He was wearing much too nice clothes to join in the weirdness of their I-ball.  It got me all excited for this season, and I got distracted watching them.

When I managed to pull myself back to the book, suddenly the lights came on in the commons room and I dont know how or why.  It was a little odd.  The guys claim it wasnt their fault, but since when do I trust them?  -pokes Robby in the gut-

Ate dinner, took a shower, and now Im going to bed since I have Jamison at nine in the morning.  I must have energy to deal with Jamison.

trickster8319 - are you going to put yourself in a Bell Jar?  (Jan. 16, 2003 - 23:04est)

Man, Im with you on that class.  The rise of the machine age?  In 1970?  That woman needs to go back to wherever she was before she came here.  Or maybe she could I dont know **coughreadthematerialcough**

But you didnt hear that from me.

heatanddamage56 - i found the ghost!!  (Jan. 17, 2003 - 08:12est)

IT WAS NICK!  he said so!  it was dark when he walked by, but he still saw you.  he didnt want to interrupt your studying so he thought hed just help you out with the lights.

tell coach he needs to be nice to us.  *pouts*  i like my ass just the way it is.

1.  yes, his name is Nick Carter, which would make him NC.  please dont mistake him for north carolina.  he's not *that* big.

2.  how long were you watching us?  *is curiously creeped out*

- -pokes Robby in the gut- -

*dough boy giggle*

So the ghost is Nick, but yet Nick is the one whos supposed to protect me from the ghost? -is confused-

Tell him I said thank you for his concern for the well being of my eyes.  They appreciate his kindness.

And why would I do that?  I enjoy watching boys sweat.

Um Ill try not to mistake him for North Carolina.

Not long.  Two minutes?  Why does that curiously creep you out?

antiglitterprincess - Re: are you going to put yourself  (Jan. 17, 2003 - 12:54est)

Who said that?!  -innocent smile-  Thanks for the empathy.

redheadirishboy - The ghost is NICK!!  (Jan. 17, 2003 - 13:48est)

Stop talking to Rob, baby Shane.

heatanddamage56 - Re: i found the ghost!!  (Jan. 18, 2003 - 10:24est)

well, since the ghost thing didnt work out, let me put it this way - Nick wants to get into yo pants.  *porn music starts playing*

i told him.  he turned bright pink and stumbled over the words tell her shes welcome.

evil is thy name.

cause Nick mentioned something about feeling someone watching him.  *wiggles eyebrows*  be careful - he can feel it when you undress him with your eyes.

trickster8319 - Re: i found the ghost!!  (Jan. 18, 2003 - 14:59est)

- evil is thy name. -

i agree.  my legs fucking HURT!

- be careful - he can feel it when you undress him with your eyes. -

*high fives Rob*

dont know.  work maybe?  Pete hasnt been around either.

antiglitterprincess - so is my journal the new hangout for players?  (Jan. 18, 2003 - 20:04est)

Rob - How bout I send Alec to strip for Nick and then Nick can get into *his* pants?  Mine are securely on my hips.  As for undressing him with my eyes uh Ill keep that in mind?  If anything I was admiring how good he looked *in* his clothes.

Alec - Ill keep the offer in mind, baby.  -wink-

Shane - Smart boy.  Pete and I were both at work until five.

BTW, my name is Skylar, not Evil.
