About This Site
StrangeOnline was launched in April 2002, dedicated to the BBC's then new supernatural drama Strange, starring Richard Coyle, Samantha Janus and Ian Richardson. At the time the site was launched, only the pilot was aired, and it was not yet known whether the show would return for a full season or not. But return it did, and StrangeOnline was there all the way. Featurred in some of the press coverage around the relaunch of the show, the site has remained the focal point for Strange fans, continuing to grow since the death of the show way back in 2003.

When it became clear that
Strange was not coming back, StrangeOnline needed new ways to develop and keep fresh. So along with coverage of the cast, as well as featuring fan fiction and any other little snippets of interesting information, I turned to other tv shows. With the launch of Sea Of Souls, the BBC's replacement for Strange, came Scots and Spooks: The Sea of Souls Guide courtasy of StrangeOnline, launched with pages ready for the full coverage Strange enjoyed in the early days of the show. But sadly Sea of Souls was kindof lame, and I had no interest in maintaining the site.

When news of
Hex began to emerge, it occured to me that this would be perfect for the new life StrangeOnline was needing. So at the same time as redeveloping Scots and Spooks to only cover a basic episode guide format, I launched Hexed Up on October 15th 2004, with basic pages for the five episodes. The plan was that if it turned out to be a waste of time, then I hadn't lost anything, but if I liked the show, the site would grow accordingly. And as you can see, I liked it! So now Hexed Up is growing rapidly every day in its early stages. I don't expect it to ever reach the almost cult status StrangeOnline acheived, but it keeps me interested, and if just one person out there is reading then its all worthwhile. There are a lot of Hex sites springing up all over the place (something StrangeOnline never had to contend with, being the only Strange fansite for most of its excistence) but I aim to bring something a little different. Most of the sites at the moment are just replicating content from the Sky One Hex website...which is perfectly ok, but I've always liked to bring my own unique slant to things, building up my character profiles etc as we watch the show and see them develop, so I'm writing in the moment, without the benifit of knowing what is to come.

If
Hex makes it first its first initial season, you can guarentee Hexed Up will be with it every step of the way. And if it doesn't, if like Strange its run is cut short, then you can still guarentee that Hexed Up will not be going anywhere! StrangeOnline has survived the death of the show quite happily, as will Hexed Up I'm sure, but hopefully it won't come to that for a long time!!
