Allison currently holds a position in cardiology at North Shore University Hospital in New York. The hospital holds Magnet status for nurses and was rated #1 hospital in the nation by AARP. Allison designed an informational brochure about cardiac telemetry that is currently distributed to all patients on admission. She also created and teaches an in-service program allowing nurses, new and old, to be refreshed on important nursing interventions, pharmacology, diagnoses, and running codes in the emergency setting. Throughout 2002-2003 Allison participated in a clinical preceptorship trial program teaching new grads to become oriented to the nursing profession. This study was featured on the cover of the journal "NEWS-LINE" in 2003. Most recently Allison continues to participate in a congestive heart failure program geared to better treatment, assessment, and decreased mortality rates of this often fatal diagnosis. If successful, this program will be the blue-print for treating CHF throughout the country.

, Class of 1976 Memories: Great friends, and math/physics/computer classes. The best laugh was when the computer room was locked up for a few days because someone hacked into the mainframe and had all the teacher's payroll checks print out as $0.00, except for one teacher who's check had the entire payroll! It wasn't me... but it wasn't hard to figure out who it was as later that week when the computer room was re-opened, one person was banned from it the rest of the year. Driver's-Ed was a blast too... especially driving through downtown Cedarhurst with all the pedestrian traffic... once when I was driving and all the traffic was inching along, one guy tried to cross in front of the driver-ed car and each time we inched up he backed off... and so the driver-ed teacher asks me "...what are you trying to do... bait him?". What are you doing now? After High School went to Stony Brook and got what any self-respecting nerd would get... an electrical engineering degree. Met my wife there and we have a 7 year old boy. Brett ("Larry") Glass
, Class of 1977 Memories: Alas, my time at Hewlett was not as much fun as I would have liked. The social structure of the school was such that it was difficult to socialize unless one belonged to a clique, in which case one's social contacts were limited by one's identification with the clique. I also had the misfortune to wear fairly thick, dark-framed glasses, and so - being a serious student was stereotyped by many as a geek. (I tried to disabuse people of that notion, but quickly discovered that it was nearly impossible.) Not being a "clique" person anyway, and wanting a greater variety of social contacts than I'd have gotten by being pigeonholed as a member of one group, I socialized mostly outside the school. (Not one of the women I dated regularly during high school was a student at Hewlett.)
During my senior year, having finished most of the required classes, I "opted out" and took college courses at CUNY, showing up mainly for homeroom and a couple of AP classes. (The courses got me good grades on a competitive scholarship exam at Case Tech, so off I went to engineering school the following fall.)
Nonetheless, there were a few bright spots -- most of them in some way related to music or the arts. Perhaps the most fun was the 1977 "Art Show," in which I sang Jim Morrison's "People are Strange" as images of students at the School flashed on a screen. (Many people did not realize that it was me at the keyboard, dressed as I was in a fedora and trench coat.)
What are you doing now? Electrical Engineer (BSEE Case Tech 1981, MSEE Stanford 1985), author (more than 1000 published articles and columns), chip designer, inventor, rental property owner and manager, songwriter/musician. Founded LARIAT.ORG, the world's first wireless Internet service provider, in 1994. Very happily married and based in Laramie, Wyoming. Ed Rosen
, Class of 1958 Memories and favorite teachers would both be about Ben Suchoff (spelling?) He put me in the chorus, and before I knew it I was one of the "voices" of Hewlett High. Friends of my brothers class (he is Fred Rosen) ask him if I still sing "Old Man River" for which I became a tiny celebrity in the class of 1958. Sang in many concerts with band and chorus, mostly show music. Still sing, but mostly opera for many years now!
As a matter of fact, opera has been my work since 1966. I started a business that distributes operatic recordings. In 1966 it was mostly on reel to reel tapes. Then cassettes, then LPs, then CDs and DVDs. We are now know as Premiere Opera. We have a website at www.premiereopera.com
I was very lucky. I was able to spend my entire adult life (this far) working in a field that I was crazy about, and loved very much. How many people can say that?
I also was on the Hewlett High School baseball team, under Mr. Dugan, I believe. Played outfield and third base. I remember some of the other team members, who were friends at the time. Carl Peck was one of the players, and Ricky Mann was a pitcher. Don Selesko was a friend, and a left handed hitter on the team, though my brother has been told that he and a sister are deceased. Very sorry to hear that. He lived just a few blocks away from me. I grew up on Hewlett Avenue, only two blocks from the High School.
Many wonderful memories, some of which are a distant blur at this point, but I do remember people, and would recognize names of classmates.

, hi cathy
i enjoyed looking at your web.
i went to hewlett hs for 2 yrs - moved to florida - graduated there in '65 - went in the army and then went to columbia u in nyc where i graduated in 1979 with a degree in dentistry - i'm still practicing in san antonio, tx.
i did contact one '65 grad who referenced mr dunn and ms tolces.
i remember mr dunn from art class and ms tolces from soph yr english.
i was very close with roger - her son - who graduated in '65.
i played drums back then and roger had a small rock band with jay halperin, donny gladstone and steve dworetz who also played drums - i played when he couldn't make it - i had no interest in forming my own band since i knew i would be moving.
i did talk to roger on the phone around 1973 - it was like we didn't know each other any more - that's life i guess - as with the saying - "ya can't go back" well - now that i'm getting ancient - back feels good.
