Welcome
to Sifu Simon Hew's Wing Chun website...
Our mission is to promote and continue the art of Wing Chun here in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as taught by Grandmaster
Stephen Chan (a renowned student of
great Grandmaster Chow
Tse Chuen,
who was trained by Yip
Man).
Wing Chun is a simple but highly effective martial art suitable for
both men and women. Its techniques and methods strongly emphasise
directness, economy of motion and practical application. While keeping
true to its traditions, training is nonetheless approached within the
context of a modern self defence system. Our training
atmosphere is open, friendly and relaxed. Lessons are, without
exception,
conducted in small groups (12 students or less) or to individuals in
private lessons. Training is structured to enable students to progress
at their own pace, ensuring they fully acquire the basic and requisite
skills for subsequent stages.
The syllabus comprises the following:
- Three "empty hand" forms:
- Siu Nim Tau (小念头, Little Idea)
- Cham Kiu (寻桥, Seeking Bridge)
- Biu Jee (标指, Shooting Fingers)
- Chi Sau Drills (黐手,粘手, Sticking Hands)
- Muk Yan Jong (木人桩, Wooden Dummy)
- Two weapon forms:
- Lok Dim Boon Guan (六点半棍, Six and a Half
Point Pole)
- Baat Jaam Dou (八斩刀, Butterfly Swords)
Feel free to contact
