| Chapter seven "Okay Kyo, Shinya and I are just going to use the toilets. Will you be okay here?" "Yeah" Kyo sighed as Shinya and Die scooted off in the vague direction of the toilets. He was left alone. He didn't really know why he was here, but Die had probably only asked him out of sympathy. To be honest, Kyo had hoped that Toshiya would be there, but Shinya soon told him that Toshiya was in fact visiting Miki tonight. It had been a couple of days since they'd last spoken. So now he sat uncomfortably in a crowded room, with lots of people talking, music he didn't like blaring and numerous couples having fun. He really wanted to go home. That was decided. When Shinya and Die came back, he would tell them and then go outside and get a taxi. He just had to wait a minute before they returned. * Kaoru surveyed the place. His black eye was going down, and concealer had lessened its effect. He could not remember entirely how he got from proclaiming his undying love to Toshiya to lying on his own doorstep with a black eye. The evening had not gone as planned. But that was okay. He would win Toshiya back. But while Toshiya got over the angry as he had so many times in the past, Kaoru would have a little fun. He had re-dyed his hair to a much darker purple, painted his face on and gone out. Looking about, most people seemed pretty paired up. This didn't make getting laid impossible, but it made things harder. Then he noticed the blond at the bar. Alone, and looking in need of some attention. He sidled up. * "Excuse me, are you here alone?" Kyo nearly jumped six feet when he was addressed, and a foreign hand slipped over his shoulder. He turned to see dark purple hair sticking out at health-hazardous angles, a perfectly defined face with shimmering eyes and small lips, all on an incredibly soft focus. "Yeah well no actually, my friends are just round the corner." Kyo squinted. He had meant to put his contacts in, but forgotten, and he had left his glasses at home. "Sorry. Have we met before?" The voice was familiar, but the face didn't directly match anything. Short sighted, he could not recognise the man who previously had staggered under the effects of alcohol, and stood in the dark corridor with pink dishevelled hair. "No I don't think so." Kaoru smiled at the blond. He looked really quite adorable, and if he wasn't mistaken, rather un-experienced. Not that that really made any difference, he just really felt like showing someone what a good time was. "Would you like to go dance?" The colour from Kyo's face drained. Why did this keep happening to him? "No thank you. I'm fine here." Kyo tried what he hoped was a polite smile. "Then how about a drink? On me. What's your poison?" Kaoru tried again. He was not used to rejection. "That's okay. I don't drink, but thank you." "You sure?" What was the issue here? Did Kyo look gay? Was it the shirt he was wearing? Had Die stuck a note saying 'Hit on me, please! Especially if you are male!' on his back? "Listen, I'm probably going to go now. It's too noisy here." Was that a line just dropped? Now that was more like it! "Well, we can go somewhere more private if you want." Kaoru draped an arm around Kyo, half steering him away from the bar. "No! Go away! I - am - STRAIGHT! Not interested. At all! So please leave me alone!" Kyo ducked out of Kaoru's clutches. "But-" "NOTHING personal. I just don't like men that way." "Hmmph." Kaoru was not best pleased. "Fine. But with an attitude like that, you'll die a virgin. Buh-bye." He turned and flounced off in the other direction to be groped by some other member of the public. Kyo sighed. What the hell was going on? Just then, Die returned with Shinya, the area around his lips smeared pink from Shinya's lipstick. "You okay?" he inquired dazedly, wondering at Kyo's look of extreme agitation. "I am fine. Just great. But Die, I'm going home now. Have a good night. Shinya, it's been lovely seeing you. But I am going home." Kyo turned and walked quite steadily out of the bar, flagged down a taxi and went home. fanfiction|home |
