Cobalt Blue Tarantula
Haplopelma lividum
*Caution this tarantula is extremely aggresive not for beginners!

~Range) The tropical forests of Myanmar, Cambodia, Loas, Vietnam & Thailand
~Description) At first glance this species may appear black in color, but in the light this species displays an iridecent blue coloring on the legs. This species reaches a length of 5in and should never be handled. This tarantula is thought to be the most aggressive of all tarantula species.
~Care) A 10 gallon aquarium is recommend to house an adult. A soil bedding should be used and should be kept moist. The substrate should form a thick layer on the bottom of about 3in or more as this species likes to burrow.  A shallow water dish should be provided for drinking. Humidity should be kept high at 78-82%.
~Temperature) A temp of 80-90 F should be sustained during the day. To achieve this temp I recommend using a dome light fixture with a noctournal bulb.
~Feeding) Mainly crickets or larger insects if available

*Note: All tarantulas are venomous although some people are not as badly affected by the venom as others. If you are allergic to bees, exercise extreme caution.
