Are you a Good Friend ?
How selfish are you to your friends? Do you care how they feel? Or do you realise your life is far too important to even try and think about someone elses? if the answer to the first one was "very", the second "not really", and the answer to the third "you read my mind man!" then read on and answer the following questions to certain situations we're all faced with from time to time.
I'm starting whether you're ready or not....
1. One of your friends is apparently upset, do you: a)listen to why they're upset and tell them that they do have cause to be upset. b)listen to why and then reassure them that they've no reason to be upset. c)Don't let them dwell on it by thinking about it all and try and get them to go out and have fun! d)Don't bother them. If they're upset they need some time on their own. Best you can do is act as if nothing is wrong. 2.A friend confides in you about feelings for a girl/boy that you know is not interested, do you: a)tell them it will never work but that doesn't mean they should stop feeling how they do b)tell them they stand no chance so it's best they just move on c)Warn them they might not get the answer you're looking for but let them fall themelves d)Sit on the fence. After all it's not for you to decide on something like that. Let nature run it's course as they say. 3.A close friend is doing something you don't like or agree with, do you: a)Tell them exactly how you feel and suffer the consequences b)Mention it might not be the best thing, but remain onside with the friend at all times c)Agree with your friend, even though you may not believe it it's important to support friends d)Not get involved in it. Regardless of whether it's good or bad, best not to show anything is amiss 4.You feel like you've no-one to turn to whilst your upset, you react by: a)Telling them you feel down and need their help b)Telling them your down and to bear with you till you get through it c)say you don't feel great but it won't last forever d)Lie, say you feel good, and act as if nothing is wrong in the belief it's bound to get better 5.You betray a friends trust or let them down in some manner, do you: a)apolgise to them and explain to them why you did what you did, not as an excuse but just to make the situation clear b)Make it clear you're sorry, and give them the necessary time to forgive you c)Tell them you feel they deserved it and have strength of conviction in what you did d)There's no point dwelling on the past, best to just get on with things as if nothing happened Ok finished? Now for the answers 1. If most of your answers were a) then I think although you may not always be the nicest friend you're always honest and real with those around you and can be trusted completely 2.If most of your answers were b) then you are a good friend to people and don't like to see others feeling down, though perhaps a little afraid to tackle issues that could drag. Nonetheless you want to see your friends happy and can be trusted to look after them. 3.If most of your answers were c) then you seem to be a stong minded person, knows exactly what they think. Perhaps not the best to trust as seem to be confident in your opinions, but still a laugh to be around and you mean well for your friends even if it's not always thought through. 4.If most of your answers were d) then oh dear! You appear to have matched the only criteria for not being a friend at, all let alone a good one. It seems you think that problems just de-materialise and can be ignored. You possess no good qualities a friend should have namely: love; support; patience; or trust. Everything you do is to make you feel most comfortable which may be easy for you and make you feel happy and good but makes you a lousy friend who can't ever be relied upon. On the up side, you're not objectionable as a person... Well it's summit!
So which category did you fall under? Did you think that was a fair reflection on you as a friend? If not then please contact me and tell me why you thought it wasn't and stuff. I would love to hear your argument. The last one is bad, but I can't think of anyone like that so I don't see a problem with it. (N.B. these categories may or may not have been based on certain individuals)
