| BIO: During the Silver Millennium, Beryl was a dominant force that radiated evil throughout the solar system. Using untold powers of darkness, she was able to conquer the Earth Kingdom, and in the process, turned prince Endymion's most trusted friends and generals against him. After amassing a huge army on Earth with Jedite, Kunzite (a.k.a. Nephlyte), Malachite and Zoysite now fighting in the name of the Dark Kingdom, she attacked the Moon Kingdom without mercy. Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter were easily killed when they stood against Beryl. Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion were the last line of defense for what was left of the Moon Kingdom, and they too were killed at Beryl's hands. With her last ounce of strength, Queen Serenity used the power of the Silver Crystal to send the spirits of Beryl, her generals, her daughter, the other Sailor Scouts and Endymion to earth, where they would awake about a millennium later. Cut to the present day. One by one the spirits of the Sailor Scouts are reincarnated and reborn, but Beryl has bigger fish to fry. Conquest of just the moon kingdom wasn't her top priority anymore...she wanted to take over the entire universe. Sailor Moon gradually grew in power as her fellow Sailor Scouts awakened, adding their power to one another's. Beryl is also responsible for brainwashing Sailor Moon's beloved, Tuxedo Mask, into fighting for the Dark Kingdom on several occasions. The war between the Dark Kingdom and the remnants of the Moon Kingdom in the modern era would come to a head when Beryl would confront Sailor Moon (after her minions killed Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter beforehand). Beryl would lose the fight, however, and was presumed dead. Somewhere between life and death Beryl discovered that the Dark Kingdom and Sailor Moon's unverse were merely offshoots of a much bigger force...the worlds in which they fought were like pages in a large book. Curious, she sets her goals even higher: not just conquest of Sailor Moon's universe, but EVERY universe... HER PLACE IN THE MULTIVERSE: Notice how I said presumed dead in her bio. Being a fan of anime for as long as I have has taught me that things that die don't always stay dead. One could easily argue over which Sailor Moon villain is better, and which one I should've used in her place. Of the possible villains in Sailor Moon, I find Beryl to be, at her core, the most ruthless and nasty of the lot of them. Sure, she had cronies under her doing her bidding on Earth, but they're not always the brightest and most reliable bunch. But what megalomaniac hasn't been in that situation before? Beryl has nigh-infinite resources in the Dark Kingdom, and she's just about ready to flash her strength to all those who are foolish enough to stand in her way. |
