CHAPTER 2: A SIGN OF PRIDE

Bodies.

Bodies of students were laid out everywhere.  Judging by the sheer amount of destruction before him, this guy is obviously not one to be taken lightly.  Half of the students had already mastered the basics of the Kazama style, and they were either bandaged up or doubled over in pain, groaning and clutching various body parts as a sign of injury.

But if these were the students, there was only one person left that the assailant hasn’t gotten to yet…

“Kazama-sensei!” Sasuke exclaimed, running into the back room.  Inside, Sho Kazama, the Sensei of the Kazama dojo, was already engaged in battle with the assailant.  He was a Chinese man who was built nicely, with long black hair tied into a ponytail.  He was wearing a red suit with a white collared shirt and black dress shoes.  He must’ve been Yakuza or Triad, because there was no one in Osaka that dresses that nicely on a daily basis.  But why would he attack this dojo?  And for what purpose?

“Ah!  Sasuke!  What’re you—GRAGH!”  A shoulder ram from the Chinese man cut off Sensei Kazama’s sentence, launching him right into a wall and creating a giant human-sized hole.  The impact knocked him unconscious.

“Kazama-sensei!!  Why you--!”  Sasuke exclaimed in anger, his emotion taking over his rational thought.  The Chinese assailant used this to his advantage and dodged or blocked everything Sasuke threw at him.  Sasuke pressed on, fueled by his anger, but the assailant was just one step ahead of him, countering everything he had with ease.  The assailant then took the offensive, stopping Sasuke with a palm to the gut, then a roundhouse kick to the head.  Sasuke tried throwing a left hook, but the mysterious Chinese man caught his arm and wrenched it in, then followed up with a right palm to Sasuke’s chin and a leg sweep, knocking him off his feet.  Sasuke rolled out of the way of an attempted foot stomp to his face, then got right back up, only to get hit in the midsection hard three times followed by a shoulder ram, knocking him down again.

“Is that all you have to offer?” the Chinese man growled, as Sasuke slowly got to his feet, his knees feeling like gelatin at this point.

“I’m…just…getting…started…” the student muttered before falling to one knee, exhausted and in pain.

“Hmph.  Weak,” the Chinese man sneered, putting his fists down and ceasing his attack.  He grew bored of the fight, obviously not finding any competition.  “This was nothing more than a waste of time.  I’ll leave you be, but you would be wise not to cross my path in the future.  Because I promise you…I won’t go so easy next time.”

As he straightened out his jacket, the Chinese assailant opened the back door and walked off.  A few moments later, Asuka ran in, horrified at the display not just in here, but inside the main training area as well.  Her eyes were first set on Sensei, and then focused to Sasuke, who she ran to.

“Oh my god, what happened?” the Japanese girl asked.

“He was…too strong,” Sasuke muttered whilst still gasping for air.

“Are you alright?”

“About as all right as the rest of the guys…or even your father for that matter.”

“Huh?”  She then glanced at the hole in the wall, and found her father embedded right in it.  She gasped in horror at the sight before running to his aid.  “Dad!  Oh, my god!  How’d this happen?”

“Huh?  Oh…this…?” Sensei Kazama asked jokingly, but with a weak voice.  “It’s…just a…scratch…ooh…”

“…Dad?  Dad!”  Asuka exclaimed as she checked for a pulse.  Thankfully, she found it.  He must have passed out.  She then tended to her friend, who was still struggling to make it to his feet.

“Geez, you really got worked, huh?”

“Ungh…more or less.  Did you call an ambulance?”

“Yeah.  They should be here any minute.”

“Ah, that’s good,” Sasuke replied whilst mustering a weak smile.  “Now, can you get me something to make the room stop…ooh…” Before he could say anything more, he slumped to the ground.

“Huh?  Sasuke?  Sasuke?  Oh, come on now, don’t cash out on me yet!” Asuka exclaimed.  “…Not while I still have a lot of things to say to you…about us…” she sadly whispered to herself.  She then checked for a pulse, which was there, and beating strongly.  He was still very much alive…just unconscious for the moment.  The Kazama girl sighed in relief as the sirens blared in the distance, signaling the arrival of the ambulance.
