Herne Bay Harrier Colts Under 9�s dug in deep and showed tremendous character to outplay and a stubborn Monkton Youth side that would not give in without a fight .The scoreline of 1-0 did not reflect the constant pressure applied by the Harriers that resulted with the only game of the Match being scored from a move that started with Michael Butler providing a perfect pass through the middle to Daniel Watson who dissected the Monkton defence with a pinpoint accurate pass to Tom Wake who flicked the ball onto Ben Rogers who had only the goalkeeper to beat and did it with perfection.
Men of the Match , Billy Harding and Daniel Watson held firm in defence which allowed Matt Evans to harass the away team with his long looping runs on the left wing. Billy Harding caused havoc in the Monkton defence from numerous pin point corner kicks that resulted in the crossbar being hit on more than one occasion.
Ben Rogers was replaced by Jonathan Crisp in midfield as to ensure that the home were not caught out whilst pushing forward to kill off the game and.
midway through the first half .Tom Wake was replaced at half time by Kieran Brett and Aaron Bleau replaced the tired Michael Butler who had run himself into the ground on the right wing.
Although the Harriers did not score again in the second half the game never looked like slipping away from them providing them with a successful 100% home record for the season.
