|Herne Bay Harrier Colts Under 9?s continued with their unbeaten home record with a well deserved home win against local rivals Herne Bay Youth Colts under 9?s This was a fiercely contested local derby game to which the Harriers had under control from the kick off and reduced the away side to one shooting chance throughout the game, which Charlie Crane saved in dramatic fashion| Although the score remained at 0-0 at half time, The Harriers had numerous chances to finish the game off with | Ben Rogers from a free header that hit the outside of the post.
Thomas Wake made the away keeper pull off a fantastic one handed save with a blistering left footed shot from outside the box. Mat Evans tormented the away side with his trademark driving runs from defence and came close to open the scoring with yet another shot against the framework. Kieran Brett and Man of the Match Daniel Mantovani came on straight after the break and tore into the tired but resilient Youth Colt defence with Kieran Brett getting his just rewards in forcing home his first league goal this season.
Harriers continued to press forward and Billy Harding finished off the game with a looping volley from 20 meters that flew past the stranded keeper. Mat Evans again hit the post in the second half and Michael Butler who tormented Youth Colts all afternoon was denied to late attempts. Daniel Mantovani was replaced just before the end of the game and came off to rapturous applause for his efforts in making both goals and leading the home side in securing all three points and the double against their arch rivals.
