MATCH REPORT Herne Bay Harriers U12�s let a two goal lead slip away as they were defeated by Canterbury Eagles FC 3 � 2 at the Victoria Rec in Canterbury.
On a very boggy pitch the Harriers, through Michael Tritton, Robert Tait and David Crane tried to play football and it was from this pressure that the Harriers scored in quick succession when Josh Wells and Jack Bishop converted from corners.
The Harriers should have extended their lead when Lewis Senft, one on one with the Goalkeeper saw his shot just go wide.
Towards the end of the first half the Eagles mounted their first credible attack, which resulted in goal. In the second half the Eagle�s came more into the game and equalised from a corner.
The Harriers defence of James Putnam, Russell Gower, Michael Epps and Man of the Match Carlo Monticolombi played valiantly in atrocious conditions. Unfortunately, the pitch took its toll on the Harriers and Ryan Blackwell, in the Harriers goal could do nothing to stop the Eagles from scoring their third and winning goal.
