MATCH REPORT Herne Bay Harriers Under 12�s had a number of first team players missing, but still managed an outstanding performance when they were narrowly beaten 2 � 1 by Tyler Hill.
The Harriers started brightly and took the lead after ten minutes when Michael Tritton�s pinpoint cross was converted by Jack Bishop to put the Harriers in front. Just before the break Tyler Hill drew level when they scored a scrappy goal.
The turning point of the game was the award for a penalty to Tyler Hill two minutes into the second half. Damian Moody-Smith in the Harriers goal guessed the right way and was unfortunate not to save the shot.
In the second half the game revolved around the mid-field as both teams tried to take the initiative. The Harriers midfield of Michael Epps, Michael Smith, Russell Gower and Man of the Match Robert Tait battled to over come the Tyler Hill superior size difference.
It was from this mid-field performance that Lewis Senft, Ryan Blackwell and Alex Jefferies came close to leveling the game. At final whistle the Harries can take credit for a fine performance.
