Harriers Hit Six of the Best

Herne Bay Harriers U11's were entertained by Ramsgate Youth, in the first round of the knockout cup.  The Harriers guaranteed their position in the second round by coming out on top winning 6 - 0.

The first blood was struck after ten minutes, when an interchange of passes took place between Man of the Match Robert Tait and Russell Gower, which resulted in a fine finished by Michael Epps at the far post.

Minute's later Jack Bishop picked the ball up on the edge of the Ramsgate penalty box and rounded several Ramsgate players and finished an outstanding run by blasted the ball into the far corner of the goal.

Ramsgate could only attack on the break and good defending from Jonathan Culver, Ryan Neat, James Putnam, Mark Hammond and Ryan Blackwell saw these sorties snuffed out.

Just before half time the Harriers lengthened their lead further when David Crane struck a left foot volley from the edge of the box, which saw the ball sail into the top corner of the goal. Josh Wells then got the first of his brace when he latched onto a loose ball in mid-field and fired the ball passed the Ramsgate goalkeeper.

In the second half the Harriers continues with their attractive passing and movement. They then extend their lead further when Lewis Senft beat the Ramsgate off side trap and ran half the length of the pitch to notch up his well-deserved first goal of the season. Finally to seal a good performance, Josh Well got his second of the game close to the end of the Match.

The Harriers goalkeeper were never troubled, so a quite game for both Scott Venn and Damien Moody-Smith.
