MATCH REPORT HERNE BAY HARRIERS U11�s showed fighting spiriting in their 3-2 defeat by Bliby FC.
In a thoroughly entertaining match where both sides were committed to attacking football. The Harriers nearly took the lead when Jack Bishop and Michael Epps had shot that just missed the target. The Bliby defence held strong as Russell Gower and James Putnam link up well down the Harriers left side.
Bliby where happy to counter attack, which paid dividends mid way through the first half as they took the lead after a mix up in the Harriers defence.
In the second half Bliby�s route one football taxed the Harriers defence, but Ryan Neat, Ryan Blackwell and Jonathan Culver were equal too it. However a second mistake allowed Bliby to extend their lead.
Straight from the kick off David Crane latched on to a through ball from Alex Jefferies and gave the keeper no chance. Minute�s later Lewis Senft released Josh Wells who put the Harriers on level terms, when he fired the ball into the top left-hand corner of the goal.
The Harriers staged a fight back but this was to no avail as Bliby regained the lead. With minutes remaining Robert Tait was unlucky not equalise as his shot flew passed the post.
The final score was 3-2 to Bliby, but the score line could have been greater if it was not for Man of the Match Scott Venn, in the Harriers goal, who was responsible for keeping the Harriers in the game with a number of outstanding saves.
