MATCH REPORT HERNE BAY HARRIERS U11�s entertain Bliby FC in the Parker Steel League and were fortunate to come away with a 2 �1 victory.
The Harriers rode their luck in the first half when Bliby�s counter attack tactics nearly paid off, but for the timely intervention of Ryan Blackewell, Jonathan Culver and James Putnam in the Harriers defence, they could have taken an early lead.
This luck ran out mid way through the first half when a speculative high shot from the middle of the pitch looped in giving Scott Venn in the Harriers goal no chance. The Harrier then started to play as a team, with good interchange of pass from Robert Tait, Micheal Epps & Russell Gower. This pressurised resulted in shots from Josh Wells & Lewis Senft, and an eventual equaliser from Jack Bishop.
Just before the break the Harriers were awarded a penalty for handball and this was clinically converted by Man of the Match Ryan Neat, to give the Harriers the lead.
In the second half it was very much even, but occasionally the Harriers had opportunities to extend their lead with David Crane producing some excellent cross from the right side, unfortunately there were no Harrier on hand to finish the move. The final score 2 � 1 to the Harrier, which moves them to second place in the table.
