MATCH REPORT HERNE BAY HARRIERS U11s entertained their local rivals Herne Bay Youth in a wind swept local derby at Briary School, where the Harriers came out on top winning 6 0.

The Harriers, playing against the wind in the first half, took an early lead when David Cranes shot rebounded off of the keeper and was deflected in to the empty goal by a defender. The second goal came minutes later when good passing from Russell Gower and Jack Bishop released Josh Wells to extend the Harriers lead.

Although the visitors had the advantage of the wind, the Harriers defence of Ryan Blackwell, Ryan Neat, Jonathan Culver, James Putnam and Man of the Match Mark Hammond worked well as a unit and restricting Herne Bay Youths to few chances. Both Damien Moody-Smith and Scott Venn were never trouble in the Harriers goal.

Just before the break Lewis Senft latched onto a loose ball in side of the penalty box and rifled a shot into the top left-hand corner of the goal to make it 3 0 to the Harriers at half time.

In the second half the Harriers took control of the game and capitalised on some good approach play when Alex Jefferies and Josh Wells both scored from close range.

With minutes remaining Robert Tait rounded of a good performance when he got his first goal of the season
