MATCH REPORT

Herne Bay Harriers U10As maintained their 100% winning record with a thumping victory over Thanington on Sunday,  with their 14th consecutive league victory of the season was thoroughly deserved with a polished all round team performance, and five different goalscorers. Harriers were relieved to see an early penalty against them ballooned over the bar after 5 minutes before Aidan Gawler opened the scoring with a fine volley from the edge of the box. Shane Moody-Smith soon added a second before Sam Bubb scored with his first touch after coming on as sub. Moody- Smith and Bubb then combined well to set up defender Austin who blasted home from the edge of the area as Harriers dominated the play, James Brown controlling the midfield with his astute passing. In the second half Harriers changed keepers,

James Lawrance- Benge swapping positions with Calum Helman to allow him a rare run out on pitch. With the wind and slope in their favour Harriers continued to dominate, and switched formation to box Thanington in their own half for long periods. Gawler and Moody-Smith continued to torment the defence and added to their personal tallies, late on George Hardy whod been the only outfield player yet to score this season blasted the ball into the roof of the net to seal an impressive 8 goal haul for the table toppers.
One point from their last 4 games will seal the championship for the Herne Bay based side and co managers Steve Hardy and Paul Austin.
