MATCH REPORT Harriers U 10�s won their tenth consecutive league game on Sunday, beating Dover Rangers 5-1.
After a tight opening 10 minutes Darren O�Connell opened the scoring for Harriers with a low shot that was too fierce for the keeper to stop. Harriers then started to dominate the game and midfielder Sam Taylor scored the goal of the game, a diving header from a corner.
Samuel Brett the Harriers keeper then made a very brave save, rushing out to block a firm shot from the Dover forward to maintain Harriers lead, but he was unlucky to pick up an injury that led to him missing the second half. Sam Taylor then added to Harriers tally. His shot from just inside the box cannoned off both posts before finding it�s way into the back of the net.
Adam Woollcott completed the scoring in the first half. Kieran Staff�s pass found Woollcott who passed to Taylor who then whipped in a cross for Woollcott to instinctively stick out a boot to divert the ball into the back of the net.The second half was a tighter affair. Jamie Dale worked very well up and down the Harriers right flank to constantly trouble the Dover defence and Nick Dearberg kept the balance of the team with a tidy performance down the left flank.
Dover pulled a goal back 10 minutes into the second half. Jack Vincer, called into emergency goal-keeping duty due to Brett�s injury made a fine save but a Dover forward followed in to force home the rebound.
Adam Woollcott restored Harriers 4 goal cushion with a fine solo effort, holding the ball up before turning and scoring from outside the box.
Jamie Dale the MOM was unlucky not to score after following up a Woollcott shot that the keeper spilled, and Darren O�Connell drove a fierce shot that came back off the bar.
Harriers finished the game on top and were worthy winners of a good spirited contest.
