MATCH REPORT Harriers U10s avenged their only league defeat of the season when they beat Active Margate Colts away on Sunday to move to the top of the league. In a fierce wind it was going to be a game of 2 halves and Harriers made the most of the wind in the first half. Adam Woollcott scored from long range to put harriers 1-0 up and shortly after added a second after good work down the left flank from John Hall. Woollcott, Darren OConnell and Sam Taylor then combined to score the goal of the game, a flowing one touch move ending with a cool finish from the industrious Taylor. Nick Dearberg worked well on the wing before Woollcott added Harriers 4th to complete yet another hat-trick and take him past the 50 mark for harriers in only his 29th appearance. He then hit the bar with a long shot which OConnell followed in and tapped over the line to make it 5-0. Just before half time defender Edward Govier put through his own net to make it 5-1. The second half saw Harriers defending an onslaught from Colts. Another o.g. from Govier and 2 further Colts goals made the score 5-4 with 10 minutes to go. Joshua Robinson, Govier and Jack Vincer battled well to prevent Colts scoring again, and Jamie Dale worked tirelessly in midfield. Harriers regained their composure and were unlucky not to add to their tally. Woollcott, the MOM, hit the bar and Darren OConnell screwed a good chance wide. Sam Brett in the Harriers goal made a crucial save, diving at the feet of Colts attacker and clearing the ball to maintain Harriers slim lead.
