Harriers started well and went ahead after only 2 minutes with a goal from Aiden Gawler, assisted by Shane Moody-Smith ,Sam Bubb (who has just returned to the squad after sickness), and a lively James Brown. The game was played fast and physical by the 2 well-matched teams. Kennington absorbed a lot of pressure from Harriers, and after pulling back a goal after 20 minutes gained in confidence enough to push 2 more through before half-time. Harriers mounted a surging attack on the Kennington goal at the beginning of the 2nd half with Gawler hitting the post direct from a corner and Jack Davey going close on 2 occasions. At the other end, captain Stuart Austin was having his best defensive game of the season, and was being assisted by strong, hard tackling from George Hardy, tireless play from Ben Rowland and confident goalkeeping from Callum Helman. However, Kennington scored a fourth in the 2nd half, dashing Harriers cup dreams. Harriers must now turn their attention to the remainder of the league games, putting this defeat behind them as they remain unbeaten in Division 2.
