MATCH REPORT Herne Bay Harriers U12�s were unlucky not to take a point from their trip to Margate, but lost 6 � 3 in a close encounter. Margate started brightly and after 10 minutes where awarded a penalty, which was superbly saved by Damien Mood-Smith in the Harriers goal.
Unfortunately, Margate took the lead minutes later, but this was short lived as Robert Tait delivered the perfect pass to Lewis Senft, who was brought down in the Margate penalty area. Josh Wells stepped up and coolly fired the ball passed the Margate goalkeeper to draw level.
Just before half time Margate score 2 quick goals to go in at half time 3 �1 ahead. This trend continued in the second half when Margate extended their lead again. The Harriers battled back and came close to scoring when Josh Wells latched onto Russell Gower�s free kick, only to see his shot just go wide.
The Harriers pressure paid off when Man of the Match James Putnam scored the goal of the game, as his left foot thunderbolt flew into the net for 25 yards. The Harriers worked tirelessly to try and turn the game around, but as they chased they left themselves vulnerable at the back and Margate took advantage of this.
With seconds remaining David � Superman� Crane scored the Harriers third goal to round off a good second half for the Harriers.
