MATCH REPORT Herne Bay Harriers U12�s entertained Tankeron FC on a wind swept afternoon at Briary School. The Harriers, playing with the wind pressed Tankerton�s goal, with only counter attacks by Tankerton. Man of the Match Jonathan Culver in the Harriers defence, who had a solid performance, foiled these attacks on many occasions.
The midfield duo of Josh Wells and Robert Tait kept the Harriers pushing forward, but unfortunately the Harrier were caught out by one of Tankerton�s counter attacks and they took the lead.
In the second half Tankerton extended their lead with a superb strike, which Damian Moody-Smith in the Harriers goal could do nothing about. With the strong wind against them the Harriers played the better football with Lewis Senft and Jack Bishop coming close to getting a goal.
Tankerton when further ahead as the wind took the ball out of the reach of the goalkeeper. Michael Epps on the right provided essential width for the Harriers and linked well with the Harriers front line, which resulted in the Harriers winning a corner with minutes remaining. A good delivery from Russell Gower, saw the Tankerton goalkeeper save a point blank shot from Ryan Blackwell. Final score was Herne Bay Harriers 0 � Tankerton 3.
