Brunneria borealis
BRUNNER'S MANTIS

Special notes: This species is parthenogenetic. There are no known existing males. All mantids are females and all produce fertile oothecae.

2.10.08 Still nothing yet from the ooth... any day now!

1.13.08 Ian decided to refund me instead of shipping out a replacement. So, I'm waiting for the ooth from Drizzt to hatch out.

11.24.07 Turns out that "P. virescens" ooth I had from Drizzt all along was a B. borealis one. However, Ian says he is going to ship out another B. borealis to replace the one that never came, so I will have two ootheca of this species.

11.20.07 Still nothing. I'm going to ask for a refund if the package still hasn't arrived on 11/29.

11.13.07 Uh oh. I ordered the ooth 10/29 and it still hasn't arrived. Ian sent me the tracking number when I told him it wasn't here yet and when I tracked it, it simply said that it was overseas and ready for delivery in the U.S. I checked the post office also and nothing. I guess it isn't here yet... it's been a while though.

11.09.07 I ordered an ootheca of this species from insectstore.com (Ian) a week ago. The package still hasn't arrived yet but probably will be coming soon. Ian is a UK breeder so it will take a while for the package to come to the US. He says it's a hardy kind of ootheca and can tolerate a prolonged period of shipping.
