The Web of Deceit(storyline)
Not too long ago, a Drow girl named Thae stumbled upon The Fire after running away from her homeland, The UnderDark. An infuriated Spider Queen, which also happens to be her Mother, sent her two brothers to fetch her back. One brother was killed in the attempt, and the other eventually found a better life at The Fire as well. Thae eventually was kidnapped despite brother Zadravek and hermits watchful eyes, and brought back to The UnderDark. The quest party sent to rescue her was successful, though with much difficulty.
Now a new problem has arisen. A Spider colony has been discovered a few miles East Of The Fire. The tree trunks in this area have been eerily carved to look like spiders and webs adorn the grounds and tree-tops. So far no Drow have been spotted, but the spiders have been slowly coming closer to The Fire, attacked lone travelers in the surrounding forest and some with nearby homes have woken to find there houses covered in webbing. Does the Spider Queen have a plan of revenge for The Fire? Could it also have something to do with the recent arrival of fleeing Drow seeking a new life?
Hermit has come up with a plan for a surprise attack on the colony but needs many helping hands to make it work. She's hoping that destroying the colonly will stall and possibly reveal the Spider Queens true plans for revenge......
Come RP this S/L with us! The spiders are about 5 to 6 feet tall on all eights, making them roughly ten feet when they rear up. You can RP fighting them or just talking about seeing them etc. Whatever you feel comfortable with, be creative! Since you have read this, you can assume your character has "heard all about this" (as well as the plan of attack below) and you don't have to rp getting this info. Hermit has secured the grounds so no spiders will actually come into the clearing itself, (IRL info: Spiders are highly allergic to and avoid Lavendar and Coconut Oils, and Basil. Thus it's been spread around the entire perimeter.) and has made up small vials for personal protection as well. Feel free to ask her for some!
The mini-quest is open for anyone rping this S/L to join and will take place after Thanksgiving. You can sign up to have your character fight, or help out in other safer ways if thats more your speed. There's room for all!
Hermit's plan for surprise attack: Tsunami, a water elementalist, will be forming a huge ice wall around the colony and keeping it fortified while those hermit recruit shoot flaming arrows and launch "fire-bottles" inside the wall. The bottles will contain a natural accelerant plus the above allergens, and the fire should spread quickly in the enclosed area. The loss of flora and fauna is upsetting but the use of all-natural products will have the area safe and flourishing again in no time. People will also be needed to circle the perimeter to catch the rare spider escapee... and keep an eye out for any Drow that might decide to reveal themselves. ~grin~
