Here at our monastic hermitage we found ourselves becoming a cat sanctuary. We 2 founders have loved cats all our lives so,as these feral cats wandered in looking for food and love,we happily welcomed. So it has been for the last 11 years. Some stay for good, some come when pregnant or in need of help.Others come and go. They are free to roam or stay.We use no cages and they can be where they wish.At first the chapel was offlimits but that was a losing battle. So,as long as they behave during services and stay off the altar, they can come in.We cannot afford veternary care for them but have become adept at first aid and ordinary maintenance like worming and flea-fighting. We need your help to keep them. We usually have 40-50 cats at any time. Donations by postal money order ONLY can be sent to Rev Kathleen Taylor,pob731,Mt.View,Hawaii,96771 Funding allowing,we will give them vet care esp. neutering/spaying. |
