| Heather sat down at her desk, and looked at her brother. She didn't know what to do, so she turned around and turned on the computer. She decided that she would tell all of her friends now that she wouldn't be on during the school year. Her favorite website was Mugglenet Interactive, so she went there first.
"What are you doing?" Harry asked calmly. "I'm telling my friends I won't be online much for a while...a long while." She said cloldly. She was happy to be there, but she wasn't happy that she had to leave her friends behind. "What's wrong? You don't want to leave your friends behind, do you? Well, don't worry, you'll get really good friends at Hogwarts, and at least you have friends, I mean I didn't get friends until I went to Hogwarts.." Harry said, trying to reassure her. "I know, I've read all the books, I really love them. I use them as an escape from the Muggle World. I hated the Muggle World. I hated having to do dishes by hand, hated Muggle School, I hated it all." She said, getting happier, since she realized that she could leave it all behind. "Heh...what do you want to talk about? I mean you don't want to spend the rest of your life on that computer do you?" He said jovially, and both of them laughed. "Well, a few days ago I would gladly have spent the rest of my life on the computer, or with my nose stuck in a book. Hey, I do have a question for you. One that a lot of people have been dying to have answered for a long time." She said. She did love reading, and sitting at the computer. "No, I don't like Hermione. She's my friend, but if you ask me, I think she fancies Ron." Even as he said it, he started laughing. Heather found this a great relief to her. She had always thought that Ron and Hermione should be together. "I think so too. I've always thought that. I really think it's obvious, but a lot of people that think you should be with Hermione are just too stubborn to see it." She was getting a lot happier, and a lot less worried about leaving the world she knew behind. "Hey, so do you wanna play a game?" Harry asked, obviously desperate to find a topic other than relationships. "Yeah, if you can think of a good one." Heather replies, she doesn't know how to play any Wizard games. "Do you wanna play chess? I don't have a Muggle Chess board though." He said, and he stood up to go get the chess board. "That's ok, I've got a Muggle Chess board. I'd rather play that, I don't think I'd be very good at Wizard Chess, I don't know the grid very well..." She stood up and walked over to the closet, pulled back curtains that kept the closet from view except for the TV, and grabbed a glass chess board and pieces from the closet. She sat down on the ground and set the chess board down in front of her and started setting up the pieces. Harry took here lead and sat down across from her. "Ok, do you know how to play the Muggle version?" Heather asked. "Yes, ok, your white, you go first." He said pointing at the white pieces in front of here. They played late into the night and around midnight, Harry said that he thought it was time he went to bed. "Ok, see you tomorrow." He said, getting up slowly, and then helping Heather to get up. "Night." Heather said, and Harry walked out of the room and shut the door. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Harry went over to his wardrobe and got changed into his pajamas. He remembered that he had forgotten to right a reply note to Ron last night because of everything that had happened, so he walked over to his desk and sat down, took out a piece of parchment and began to write. Just then Heather poked her head out of her door, and said "Have you seen a light brown teddy bear? His name is Bob, and I can' t sleep without him." Harry had to fight off a laugh, but said, "No, where was the last place you put him?" "Oh, I feel so stupid, I put him in my bag before coming in. I didn't think Aunt Petunia or Uncle Vernon would think a 16 year old with a teddy bear was very sane..." "Smart, and you're right, they would have thought you were insane and put you in a mental ward for it." They both laughed and Heather went back into her room. Harry looked back at his parchment and picked up his quill and started writing. Ron, You'll never guess what happened to me last night! Sorry I didn't send this sooner, but I was distracted. I have a sister! A twin sister at that! Her name is Heather, and she's really cool. Anyway, Dumbledore thinks that we should get to know each other, at least for a few weeks. So I can come for the last two weeks before school. Hey, can Heather come? I don't want to leave her here, that would be really mean. Harry He rolled up the parchment and tied it to Hedwig's leg, because he had let Pig go the night before, he had to use her. "I'm glad you're here Hedwig. I need you to take this to Ron." And with that Hedwig flew out of the open window and into the darkness outside. A few days later Harry and Heather were sitting in Heather's room when Harry looked at his watch. "It's about lunch time, we should go sit in my room and wait for Aunt Petunia to bring us lunch." "Ok." Heather had been showing Harry her favorite websites. He really liked most of them, because they were about the Harry Potter books, he thought they were funny. They walked into Harry's room and saw Hedwig sitting on Harry's desk with a note tied to his legs. "Good, I've been hoping for a reply from Ron." Harry ran over to Hedwig and took the letter off her leg. Harry, Yeah, of course your sister can come! That way she'll get some friends before school starts! Mum said she would be more than happy to have Heather stay too. Well see you soon! Ron "Hey, Heather! Ron says you can come with me to spend the last two weeks of vacation at the Burrow!" |
