WEll..well..well..what can I say? I'm still surprise that you are still reading this reviews. I will go on crapping, mind you. But
please please read on. Hmmm...let's think...what can I say about a sequel to an extremely popular book series character's
second year on the screen, when it's prequel was well just fine?! Only two words. BIG IMPROVEMENT!! Really?
Yes, definitely. In fact it was kinda great. One thing that this movie will not be accused for is its lack of excitement. For
A starter, this sequel is much darker but has more laughs then its previous installment. Huh?? Well, the plot twists perfectly
between the tense and light moments and the special effects (though could never achieve what LOTR did) will set to delight
all the Potter devotees, especially the baslisk (but not really up to the standard set by Gollum). Precaution::A baslisk is not a
potter devotee but a monster.(again, NOT up to the standard set by Gollum). Now, if you are a bored parent or a frequent
sci-fi movie-goer...That's another story. Okay, the movie is mainly about Harry's second year at Hogwarts. Back in school,
however, a sinister terror has found its way into Hogwarts. And I mean IN. It is later revealed that this terrifying monster
was kept by Salazar Slytherin in a secret room (hence the Chamber of Secrets).. Harry already feeling a little paranoid
'bout his "evil side" soon discovers he is a parseltongue (the ability to talk to snakes). But do not fear, young Harry has not
turned into a mutant (though it might be kinda cool). He then found himself ostracized by all his friends except his loyal
buddy Ron and Hermione. Well, there's still Quidditch to take his mind of. This time around quidditch has improved
tremendously and you can just feel the adrenaline rush rooting for Mr.Malfoy or Mr. Potter whoever you are supporting. The
match between the old rivals Gryffindor vs Slytherin (makes you wonder if the other houses have quidditch teams or not)
brings more thrills then a miniature roller-coaster ride. Well, the down-fall of the movie however is the part which is least
expected by me before watching the movie, seeing that err it boast a great cast from Richard Harris to Tom Felton. Well,
its not really plough by bad acting but seriously the person who spent the most time on screen is the person who is suppose to
have the best acting. (And with that I am expecting howlers by Ee Wing soon.) Daniel Radcliffe now enhanced by a notably
deeper vocal chords though seem more comfortable reprising the lead role, still will have to buck-up and catch-up with his
other co-stars. Emma Watson in a commanding performance as the Miss-Know-It-All-Witch-In-Training, Hermione was just
wunner-ful. Me here admits that I nearly burst into tears (well not exactly since Jamuuna and Hey Ting was sitting on my
both sides in the cinema) during the part when she was confessing to Hagrid about how disappointed she was in being called
a "Mudblood". Awwww...Never let the "PURE_BLOODS" grind you down, Hermione. Back to the actors, Rupert Grint was also
perfect and convincing as Harry's whining pal. Even him, can be seen pulling out a better and more convincing role in his
acting. Sigh. What can I ever, ever, EVERRRRRRR say about the other less-important-but-can-never-be-ignored cast. Kenneth
Branagh was absolutely brilliant as the cheesy Professor Lockhart. Alan Rickman(in a smaller role here) with Jason Isaac
were also stunning(just a description of their ACTING, though I loved Luciuss' hair) as Professor S.S and Lucius Malfoy,
Draco Malfoy's father who has long blond hair...Others like Richard Harris and a wicked perfromance from Tom Felton
seem to add delight to the movie, and not forgetting the troublesome and meddling Dobby. Overall, it is a more bewitching
and enchanting movie then its prequel. Watch out for Tom Riddle and his baslisk!!
Things to watch out in the COS movie : All the scenes inside Hagrid's house, QUIDDITCH, Christian Coulson and his buddy,
Baslisk, duelling club, Prof.Lockhart whose own potrait is painting his own potrait
who is painting his own potrait, The Malfoys young and old, and all scenes involving
Fred and George Weasley:heheheh:...
Rating : 74.5% Great, great, great but still not among the greatest. (rubbing my palms together...hmmmm. Yummy...waiting for
Alfonso Cuaron's PoA. Muahahahaahha!!! May he deliver the killer blow!!)
